With the season beginning in a difficult league, the varsity girls have faced some tough competition in their first five games. Despite two difficult losses against Santa Teresa and Silver Creek, the girls have clinched some clutch wins against Pioneer, Leigh, and last season’s league champions, Branham. Outside of league games, the girls recently won the Wilcox Tournament, beating last year’s Division 1 CCS champions, Watsonville, in the semifinals (a sweet victory for the girls who lost to Watsonville in the finals last year.) Leading the team in batting average, junior Jacqui Mclean has been consistent in her clean up position, hitting not one, but two home runs against Leigh. The girls are looking forward to the second half of the league and preparing to grab a coveted spot in CCS. Come cheer on the girls at their next home game against Pioneer on Friday, April 29 at 4!
