On Thursday, March 24, former president Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against political opponent Hilary Clinton along with more than two dozen other people for allegedly trying to “weave a false narrative that [Trump] was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty [Russia]” and rig the 2016 election.
In the 108 page lawsuit filed in Florida, Trump explains the many damages that the claims have had on his “existing and future business opportunities.” Some claims include “racketeering” and a “conspiracy to commit injurious falsehood.” Although many of the claims have since been proven false, Trump still requests a jury trial and “no less than” $24 million in compensation for the damages to his image and businesses.
Although this lawsuit holds very serious allegations, there are many people questioning its reliability due to the many false claims and outlandish ideas. There are also serious doubts considering the spelling errors riddled throughout the lawsuit, starting as early as the first page. One of the most significant being with Trump suing the wrong person, with the lawsuit listing “Phillipe Reines” instead of Clinton’s adviser “Phillippe Reines.” This is one of the four lawsuits Trump has put out with misspellings on the first page.
