Jujutsu Kaisen is a world taken over by evil spirits that haunt and eat people to feed themselves. The only thing stopping these cursed spirits from attacking people are the sorcerers of Tokyo Jujutsu High that train daily to outmatch the ghosts and remove them from our plane of existence. The demons come from their own dimension which was once ruled by an all-powerful demon king named Sukuna. Sukuna was defeated over 1000 years ago and his 20 fingers were cut off to take away his power. The plot of the movie surrounds the story of Yuta Okkostu who is watched by his childhood friend who just so happens to be a ghost after a tragic car accident that killed her. Yuta believes that his ghostly friend is a harmless soul until he finds her going mad after being corrupted by an evil spirit. He is captured by the sorcerers of Tokyo and pleads to be free of his cursed friend. However, a young sorcerer named Satoru Gojo invited the haunted protagonist to join the Jujutsu High and learn how to use his spirit in combat.
