Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies satisfy your sweet cravings. The oatmeal provides a healthy source of vitamins, fiber, and minerals. And who doesn’t love chocolate chips? Not to mention, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies taste delicious and serve as a naturally sweet alternative to store-bought cookies!

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 2 hours

Servings: 24

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 
  • 3 cups quick baking oats 

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, mix butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; stir into the mixture. Add in oats. 
  2. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. 
  4. Roll dough into walnut sized balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Flatten each cookie with a large fork dipped in sugar.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes. 
  6. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Enjoy with a glass of milk and share with friends 😉
