As of December 10, 2021, The highly anticipated second season Studio Ufotable’s “Demon Slayer” has launched, with 7 unique movie adaptation episodes, and 1 Entertainment District arc episode. In order for more accessible viewing, Ufotable has cut down the recently released Demon Slayer movie Mugen Train, adding in several unique scenes into the episodes, that add more context to the story. Furthermore, the studio took a huge step and did fans a favor, creating an entirely new episode set within the time frame between the end of season one and the beginning of the Mugen Train arc to make the story more cohesive. The episode details how flame hashira Kyojuro receives word of disasters and ominous occurrences surrounding the mugen train, and the actions he takes in order to find it, as well as the demon likely aboard it. Ufotable has stepped up their animation quality from season one, sprinkling in ultra detailed moments throughout the episode, and seamlessly integrating CGI with drawn frames. Typically, a given scene has a 90s style of drawing for characters with a modern looking drawn or cgi background, and either one compliments the character significantly. As for the first episode of the Entertainment District arc, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu are mourning the death of someone very close to them. However the group realizes they must strive to overcome their grief, and travel to give their condolences to the dead person’s family, kick starting their next mission. So far, the story and production quality so far of the new Demon Slayer episodes has been amazing; they will truly be a wonder to watch in the coming months.
