Kendyl Brower, a fashion icon, participates in a plethora of extra-curricular activities. Volleyball is just one of these activities. Kendyl manages to be an editor of The Shield, the president of Best Buddies, commissioner of LIFE Crew, and a member of CSF, all while being an excellent volleyball player. She is the definition of a scholar-athlete. Starting off her volleyball career in 5th grade and continuing throughout middle and high school, she fell in love with the sport. Entering high school she started off as a freshman on JV and quickly moved her way up to Varsity by sophomore year. You can catch her on the court repping number 14 playing defense, most often defensive specialist. Having time to learn and improve these past three years, Kendyl showed her teammates and coach she is ready to lead her team to victory. As captain, she claims her goal is, “to have a fun senior season and really bond with all of the players.” Kendyl works hard to make an inclusive environment for all the girls playing. Time flies and it is already her senior season. Kendyl claims, “I love how fast the game is: the points move quickly so you can’t get stuck on a bad play, you just have to trek on.” Her experience has helped Westmont Varsity persevere— to push through the struggles and work together. Her friend Hailey Abdilla states that “ [she] admire[s] Kendyl’s work ethic and determination on and off the court.” Kendyl’s diligence and hard work are recognized by many.
