Mr. 305, Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull– by any name, the Cuban American superstar knows how to put on a show. Pitbull and Iggy Azalea’s “I Feel Good Tour” gives fans everywhere a concert “you won’t forget.” It seemed as though every Bay Area teen attended the September 26 show at Shoreline Amphitheatre; in fact, the lawn looked no different than your average weekend rager– except 50 times the size. Even if you passed on the great performance, you can live it vicariously through the 20+ instagram posts. The cheap ticket prices attracted most fans, the average lawn ticket costing around 30 dollars. Senior Diana Brodskiy raved that her ticket “was the best $30 [she’s] ever spent!” Iggy Azalea graced the stage at 8 p.m. but by 7, the crowd on the lawn already formed a monstrous mosh pit, as crowds of teenagers are prone to do. Fans at the front (us included) can attest to the hectic chaos of trampled fences and belligerent security guards.Later in the night, the guards had finally successfully suppressed the tumult of the teens, the lights went out and the air filled with the screams of thousands as the crowd reignited. Iggy’s performance perfectly set the stage for Mr. Worldwide, even if casual fans failed to recognize most of the songs. The Aussie’s set ended at around 8:45 and the audience buzzed with anticipation. The strength of the buzz had only weaned slightly when Pitbull finally took the stage at 9:30. Electric, his performance and energy reinvigorated the crowd. Pitbull’s energy reverberated throughout the crowd as thousands of fans screamed the lyrics to Pitbull’s most popular songs such as “Hotel Room Service” and “Timber.” In fact, Senior Hailey Abdilla recounts that her “voice completely disappeared only halfway through the concert.” By the end of the night, most of the audience, still enthusiastically, rasped along to Pitbulls closing songs until the stampede toward the exit began. Whether they struggled in the sweaty mosh or pushed themselves to a spot in the front (like we did), most attendees agree Pitbull gave them the time of their lives.
