90s Throwback Playlist:

Here are some 90s throwback songs I’ve collected in the past years by my family, friends, and including myself wandering around finding hidden gems on music platforms. This playlist has 9 songs split into three genres which are Rock, Hip Hop, and Japanese pop/city pop. These songs main themes/points are the struggles of yourself (your insecurities, goals, path, etc in life) the main three songs on this playlist are “Find a Way”, “Nothing Else Matters” and “4:00 A.M.”

Find A Way- A Tribe Called Quest

“Find a Way by A Tribe Called Quest”, a 3:23 minute-long song off their album The Love Moment in 1998, produced by J-Dilla and Q-Tip. The main theme of this song is girls teasing the men singing the song (Tip and Phife). The tracks sample back-tracks of Town Tel feat. Bebel Gilberto “Technova (Lá Em Copacabana)” and “Got ‘Til It’s Gone” by Janet Jackson feat. Q-Tip and Joni Mitchell” (1997).

Nothing Else Matters- Metallica

“Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica is a 6:28 minute-long song off their most controversial album known as “The Black Album”. Frontman James Hetfield says originally this song wasn’t supposed to be released to the public as it was a very vulnerable song for him, but he decided to release it to the world. This song was produced by Frontman James Hetfield.

4:00 A.M-Taeko Onuki

4:00 A.M by Taeko Onuki runs at 5:36 minutes-long. Released in 1978 the album name “Mignonne” at first was a very unsuccessful album,  but with this song,4:00 A.M  the album received lots of support. This song talks about a narrator who meets with someone who they shouldn’t meet; they are conflicted with the situation.

I really hope you enjoyed this 90s throwback playlist with the songs; “Find a Way” “4:00 A.M” Nothing Else Matters” “Grown Man Sport” “Dress Down” “Santeria” “Plastic Love” “All The Small Things” and “Runnin’,” stay tuned for some more songs and some new genre recommendations later in the future!
