An accomplished swimmer, student, and one of Westmont’s fashion icons—junior Emmy Dinh has excellent, unique fashion sense. To get to know Emmy and her signature vintage style, I interviewed her about the inspiration behind her wardrobe and what she looks for when crafting outfits.
Describe your style in three words.
Vibrant, comfortable, casual.
Do you have any fashion icons?
I don’t really have any specific fashion icons but I find a good amount of my inspo from Pinterest and then I like to alter them and add things to my liking.
What is a go to item in your closet?
JEWELRY! For sure. I’m always layering tons of different jewelry like earrings, necklaces, and my personal favorite, rings. I find that it adds so much personality to an outfit and makes it so much better.
Where do your clothes come from?
Some of my favorite clothes come from “smaller” shops online that sell vintage or reworked clothing like ragzrevenge. Depop is also really nice if you are able to find some cool pieces for a good price.
What is a fashion trend you love?
High top converse. I feel like they are always in trend and there are so many different styles and colors to choose from. They also look good with so many different outfits.
A trend you dislike?
I’m not really into the whole biker shorts trend I think they look kind of weird because they’re such an odd length.
Any fashion tips?
Accessorizing with bags, jewelry, sunglasses, etc. can make a huge difference in making a boring outfit become a not so boring outfit.
