Internet Cookies

Have you ever been on a website and it says “This website uses cookies” and you never knew what that meant exactly?  Internet cookies are small pieces of data, such as your user identification and internet preferences, that are stored by the web browser while surfing the Web. Cookies are intended to let websites allow users to  recall their individual information and preferences, and customize advertising to personalize your session. Cookies also track what you searched and what you viewed, allowing the sites, like those made for shopping, to suggest other products that are similar to what you searched for. Cookies are used for better web experiences and website customization. You shouldn’t be too concerned about cookies, website sign-in is unavoidable but you should follow general internet precautions like keeping your web browser up to date, create complex passwords, and avoiding sketchy websites.
