Many people have passions. Yet few people turn their passions into a profitable or tangible reality. For senior Gabby Besio, however, this is not the case. Stuck indoors, Gabby turned a fun past time of hers: baking—into a business. “Ever since I was a little kid,” explains Gabby, “I’ve always loved to bake. Whenever I have free time, more often than not, I choose to spend it baking new desserts or trying out different decorating techniques.” The pandemic gave Gabby the perfect opportunity to “expand and master her baking abilities.” Thus, she launched Pecan Way Bakery: an online bakery based in Campbell CA. Her new business, Gabby shares, is like a “glorified lemonade stand.” Customers can purchase baked goods on her made-from-scratch website, https://pecanwaybakery.wixsite.com/mysite
Kitchen sink cookies, Chocolate French Silk Pies, and custom cakes are just some of the delicious items that Gabby offers. During her recipe developing process, Gabby had me taste one of her yellow cakes with chocolate frosting, along with her chocolate silk pie. Both confections were nothing short of spectacular. One of Gabby’s main sources of pride is her custom cakes, which she creates by hand for customers celebrating special occasions. “I want to share what I have learned [about cake decorating] with others!” relays Gabby.
All of Gabby’s orders are processed safely, so customers can enjoy every treat reassured that it has been made with care and health safety in mind. If you have a sweet tooth, or want to treat yo’ self, as Gabby often says, order from Pecan Way Bakery: Campbell’s sweetest spot!
